Taxation On Persons: None
Tobacco: 400 cigarettes (600 cigarettes for stays longer than 6 months).
Alcohol: Two bottles (not exceeding 750 ml each) of alcoholic drinks (4 bottles for stays longer than 6 months).
Perfume: A reasonable quantity of perfume for personal use.
Foreign Currency: Not exceeding 1000 USD (5000 USD for non-residents).
Obligatory Declaration of Foreign Currency: From 10,000 EUR.

Other Requirements: Weapons, ammunition, pornographic material (some photographs from standard western magazines can fall in this category), radio transmitters/receivers, exposed but undeveloped film rolls, fruits, some vegetables, political and religious brochures (a certain number of religious documents for personal use is tolerated) are prohibited.

Obligatory Vaccination and Other Recommendations: It is recommended that everyone 16 years of age and older should get fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before travel and present, if necessary, evidence of COVID-19 vaccination at the border.  The updated information on all health entry requirements as well as on routine and recommended vaccines for China are provided on the dedicated pages on TravelHealthPro and CDC websites.
While there are no official requirements for vaccination, the following are strongly recommended: tetanus, diphtheria, typhoid fever, chickenpox, influenza, measles, rabies, hepatitis A and B, meningococcal disease and poliomyelitis. In Yunnan and the island of Hainan, as well as in the provinces of Guangxi and Guizhou, vaccination against Japanese encephalitis is advised if staying in the countryside.

Crime: Low. Violent crime most often occurs in the bars and clubs of Beijing’s nightlife districts. Pickpockets are particularly active in crowded markets and thefts from taxis have also become more common.

Risk of Natural Disaster: Every year, the southern coastline of China is affected, between the months' of May and October, by about ten typhoons on average, characterized by violent winds and heavy rains. This phenomenon affects the city of Shanghai a little but mostly concerns the Zhejiang province's coast.
